Jsfcci,
What is it going to take to get this City straightened out?
Answer: A new Mayor, with a business background, that can make good business decisions, based on sound logic. Then it's going to take time to get things back on track.
My criticism is directed toward the Mayor and his performance and the direction this City has gone.
In the last 5 years, $1,595,000.00 has been spent needlessly and wastefully.
Now the City is broke and the people of Vandalia are broke. What jobs we had moved away. They didn't go out of business but THEY MOVED AWAY!.
I'm supposed to be Ok with that?
Now I'm telling you how to fix it.
You might be surprised in the fine people in this community that do go to Church. They are a quiet and polite group. You won't see them running down the street chasing their spouse with a butcher knife on Friday nights. They're just sweet fun loving people.
My goal here all along is to get people to thinking. A old cowboy proverb goes like this. "If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging."
Undercoverbrother,
I'm not saying we can't annex the Lake area. We need to proceed with caution. Enough money has already been wasted. If we do this annexation it needs to be done by people who know what the heck they're doing. I have no confidence in the incumbent Mayor pulling this off without botching it. The reason is simply, look at his track record.
