Computer Sharks USA, a locally owned business in Vandalia, is in the process of developing its own version of the Vandalia website. In 2001, Ken Hubler, then owner of Computers PLUS and now co-owner of Computer Sharks USA, was granted a contract with the City to develop and maintain the Vandalia website (www.vandaliaillinois.com). He not only develped the website and maintained it for eight years, he also at no charge to the City revised the site two more times, each time improving its look and functionality. He was in the process of revising it again at no charge but in May the City Administer sent an email to Computer Sharks stating their services where no longer needed with no reason why.

A few more months later, the City Administer sent another email  to Computer Sharks stating the City had allocated $5000.00 to revise and improve the website and to submit a proposal. A proposal was sent but it was found out later the City decided to recind the allocation. It was also found out the City Administer had hired another business to maintain the website.

Ken Hubler, not knowing why his business services to the City were terminated and having spent many months on a website revision for the City decided to go ahead and finish the revision and publish it on the internet for all to see. He and his partner feel, because of the way their business was terminated, the only way during this administration to get a chance to work with the City is to show our residents their work and hopefully get them involved in the decision of the next Vandalia website.
